Artwork by Paul Johnstone - abstract art painting with a blue background, made up of yellow, green and red squares

Bloom

This new work by Paul Johnstone is a collection created last year during lockdown and has an emphasis on nature and the seasons.

Paul makes paintings to create ambient abstract spaces, and comments "I come to each picture not knowing where we will end up and that process of discovery is what excites me and keeps me making. I want something I have never seen before, an arresting image".

The technique Paul uses helps him to build up an image where there is enough texture, depth and detail in the work to allow him to spend time with and return to it time and again.

The exhibition will run from 6-20 August and will be open week days 9am-3pm.

You can view Paul's work on his website, and follow him on Facebook and Instagram.
