Arts Enterprise Challenge
The Arts Enterprise Challenge, run by Banks Mill and Derby University's Enterprise and Incubation is now open to all Creative Arts students from the University of Derby.
Whether you’re a Fashion Designer, Fine Artist, Graphic Designer, Illustrator, Printmaker, Photographer, Product Designer, Potter, Textile Artist or a creative soul who wants to start their own business – this opportunity is for YOU.
If you want to learn how to start making, exhibiting and selling your work then now is the time. The Arts Enterprise Challenge is designed to guide you through the process of how to make your creativity pay.
Applicants must complete a short Project Model Canvas and Financial form (these can be downloaded at the bottom of this page) which will detail the product you wish to make (whether that's a range of clothing, a set of handmade prints, high end framed photographs or even paintings and sculptures!). Once these forms are complete, just fill out and upload them to our Application Form along with some supporting images of your work.
Once all applications have been received three winners will be chosen by a panel of judges from Banks Mill Studios. Each winner will receive an award of £500 towards the creation of the selected work. The selected winners will also be awarded a place at Banks Mill’s prestigious Open Studios event at the end of November 2024, where they can sell their work and promote themselves as emerging creative practitioners.
If you’d like support when filling out your application or a conversation about your project plan, we will be running a lunchtime workshop & drop-in session to help students make the most of their ideas.
The Drop-In support session and workshop will take place on Tuesday 30th April in MS018 at the Markeaton Street Campus from 11:30am - 1:30pm, lunch will also be provided for any students taking part.
