IPE is a unique opportunity to see work from printmakers all around the world, to explore various printmaking methodologies and practises and to purchase quality prints at an affordable price.
Each participating printmaker creates and submits a limited edition of ten prints specifically for the exchange. These prints are created using a recognised fine art printmaking technique with archival materials. Of the ten prints submitted, Green Door Printmaking Studio keeps two; the first for their archive and exhibition; the second for sale to fund future exchange projects (in return, if sold, this printmaker will receive free entry to the following year's exchange). The remaining prints are randomised and sorted, and each printmaker receives eight random prints in return from participating printmakers.
Each year, prints submitted to the IPE are compiled into an artist’s book for both posterity and for sale and will be available to purchase online.
The culminated prints will be exhibited at Banks Mill Studios from 11 Oct - 9 Nov and is open 11am - 3pm (closed Tues and Sun).
Members of the public are invited to join Green Door to celebrate the launch on Friday 9 Oct from 5-8pm.
