Oker by Lor Bird

Flowering at the Edges

Derbyshire fine artist Lor Bird will be displaying a selection of her work in our foyer gallery space this August.

The exhibition is a response to Jacques Derrida’s ‘The truth in painting’ which explores aspects of painting that are often overlooked or hidden as they flower at the edge. It will include items often overlooked or dismissed for being functional, decorative or domestic but nevertheless influence her work.

Lor will be doing live painting on certain days in the foyer and is happy to discuss her work and share her passion for painting.  Paintings and prints will be on sale too.

Lor has previously showed her work in a number of exhibitions and festivals including Wirksworth, Melbourne and the Derbyshire Open Arts event.

The exhibition runs from 30 July – 24 August and will be open weekdays 10am-3pm; and Sunday, 26 August by appointment by contacting Lor.

Lor will be live painting in the foyer from 9am-12noon and 1pm-3.30pm on Wednesday's and Thursday's on the following dates in August: 1st and 2nd / 8th and 9th / 15th and 16th
