January 8, 2026

Ayodeji Kingsley – runner up in the Young Emerging Artist Award Winner

About the PDA Emerging Artist Award

Celebrating the diversity of creative talent in and around the Peak District the Young Emerging Artist Award aims to encourage and support a young emerging artist or maker at the start of their career. The aim of PDA Young Emerging Artist (YEA) Award is to encourage and support an artist at the start of their career.

The winner of the PDA Emerging Artist Award is invited to become a member of Peak District Artisans with subsidised fees for three years. Support and opportunities are provided with the intention that after three years the artist/maker will be able to fund their membership of the group independently, setting them on the path to work as a professional artist.

Due to the high standard of entry this year, the PDA awarded runners up prizes of one year’s free membership of Peak District Artisans to a further two artists, one of which was our very own metal sculptor and Banks Mill Affiliate Member, Ayodeji Kingsley.

Ayodeji Kingsley, a metal sculptor with a passion for transforming discarded materials into unique and evocative works of art, creating work that has sustainability and creativity at its core.

Congratulations Kingsley!
