The House of Lateeque – One Year Anniversary

The House of Lateeque joined Banks Mill Studios this time last year. After spending time developing their business from home, it became clear that to move forward, The House of Lateeque would need a new home. Ateeq and Laura needed a space where they could work cleanly and concisely, allowing them to formulate their unique brand of natural skincare products to exacting standards and regulations.  

Banks Mill provided them with the perfect opportunity. A space that could be modified to accommodate their needs, the business support Banks Mill provides and the encouragement of the creative community that surrounds them.

 

 

“Since joining the Banks Mill community last August, it has been a great experience for us and our business. It has given us a chance to create and expand our range, as well as meeting friendly and talented creatives. We have made new contacts and found new opportunities to move our business forward. We have come a long way since the beginning in the day’s when we were creating products from our home office.  

Since our launch in November our range has expanded from only having five variants of face moisturiser to now having added hand moisturiser, foot & heel cream and lip balms with lots more being developed. We are collaborating with a couple of Banks Mill tenants to increase our range which will benefit both parties.  

Banks Mill tenants have been very welcoming and given us plenty of insight in to marketing our products and helping us with venues as well as feedback on our developing products.  

Since launching in November, we have had the opportunity to feature in Derby live after a visit from a publicist at the monthly makers market held at the studios. We are also collaborating with the community outside of Banks Mill and getting positive feedback, we are currently in talks with a pharmaceutical group.  

 

 

Our vision for the next 12 months is to push forward with increasing our range, approach more retail outlets to stock our products, expand our brand awareness to other cities and attend larger exhibitions. Also to focus on social media advertising to direct traffic to our website.  

We can honestly say that our first year at Banks Mill has been incredible and we would highly recommend anyone considering a space, to start their journey with their small business, to do so, as we have found the space very helpful with low rental cost as well as long opening hours, giving us the opportunity to create around our everyday jobs. We are looking forward to our next 12 months with this wonderful community.
