I am a contemporary artist and paint in oil. I tend to predominantly use line and colour to convey my relationship to my subject. My work is influenced by expressionism and cubism and by artists such as Cezanne, Vlaminck and Rouault. Most recently I have been looking carefully at the work of some British modernists in particular Vaughan, Heron and Doig, 

My subjects are often drawn from the natural world and convey my love of landscape with which I have a strong connection. Some of my most recent work contains social and political narratives  I usually paint using either flat or multiple perspective. I love the texture of oil paint and use both scraper and brush to exploit that potential.
