Flomotion is a new brand which has been launched by Beatrice Russell that provides prototyping and development of competitive sports garments.

Prior to setting up her new business Bea worked for Triathlon brand HUUB as Product Manager and it was a conversation and encouragement from her boss that she decided to go it alone and set up her new business.

Bea has various experience within the industry having helped with the development and launch of a new aerodynamic cycling range for HUUB, as well as having experience in product and technical development for lingerie brand Tutti Rouge.  Both these jobs have given Bea valuable insight into this niche sector.  Bea also studied Contour Fashion at De Montfort University where she won first place in a design competition set by Triumph Lingerie.  She has also received further business support through the Princes Trust.

Bea chose to locate her business at Banks Mill as she wanted somewhere she wasn’t isolated, where she was at the centre of a community of creative industries and like-minded professionals.  Bea also likes the fact that she can work with the University of Derby and its students. Bea comments: “I believe that there is so much I can share and teach students. I found among many courses that there is a lack of real-world industry experience; I want to get to a place where I can offer work experience or internships to students, and hopefully inspire them.”

Bea’s new business will be a sample service for premium sportswear brands and organisations needing to develop and create the next market leading products. From idea conception, through to finessing a product for a specific athlete she will ensure that all marginal gains available from a fabric perspective can be met and achieved through her service, which could mean the difference between 1st and 2nd place for Olympians.

Bea comments: “My goal is to become the go to place for all premium brands. I want to be the contributor to Athletes when they surpass their own expectations. I want to know I can make a difference with my services.”
