Banks Mill Tenant Lucy Mills and Affiliate member Christine Thomas have both been selected to show their work at Level’s Public Open Exhibition.

The Banks Mill Student Residency award is a fantastic opportunity for current students and recent graduates to develop new work and business skills in a creative and collaborative environment.

The second Bonsall Arts Trail took place over the weekend of the 29th & 30th June 2024. This year saw 120 Artists and makers showing their work in over thirty venues along the trail as well as throughout the park and village.

Meet new Affiliate Member Florence Mulvey, a visual artist adventuring in abstract and landscape painting. Florence has studied at the Birmingham institute of Art and Design where she gained a BA Hons in Fine Art as well as a PGCE in Art & Design from Goldsmiths University.

This month we welcome one of our newest tenants, illustrator Rosie Yates to the building and get to know more about her practice and how she looks forward to settling into her new studio at Banks Mill. Rosie is a freelance illustrator and works predominantly using digital illustration techniques. Her illustration style varies but she enjoys using uplifting colours in her work and adding subtle hidden details that you might have to look a little harder to find! Projects that Rosie has worked on include illustrated maps, drawings for printed media and magazines and creating animated gifs.

A current University of Derby student studying MSc in occupational therapy, Sze man Fung or Cecilia, aims to utilise art & crafts to provide support for people with strengthening their mental health and wellness in later life.

Maria will be running a series of 6 workshops at Artcore’s Community Hub between Sat 20th April – Sat 25th May.
