Student Residency 2025 Now open for Applications 

 

The Banks Mill Student Residency is a fantastic opportunity to develop new work and business skills in a creative and collaborative environment.  The successful applicants will have an opportunity to exhibit their work at Banks Mill and engage with the vibrant and rich community within the building. 

The Student Residency Award is ideally suited to those who need access to a space that allows for messy, creative or “maker” based activity that can’t be done in either an office or “clean” workspace. We want to champion creatives from all areas, whether that’s traditional Arts based businesses like Graphic Design, Painting, Illustration, Fashion or something that involves creative technologies such as Games Design & Development, Immersive Technologies for film and media or even Creative Engineering.   

Our student residency opportunity provides the following: 

• Studio space rent free for 12 months* 

• Profile listing on the Banks Mill website 

• Participation in the annual Open Studios showcase & selling event 

• Group exhibition in the Banks Mill foyer 

• Monthly meetings with fellow tenants 

• Peer support group 

• Free membership to the East Midlands Chamber/Generation Next 

• Access to our Entrepreneurs Club peer support group and co-working space 

  

*Separate charge for electricity payable.
